Fifa lift Marumo transfer ban

Fifa has officially lifted the transfer ban against Marumo Gallants.

The Limpopo-based side was banned from registering new players following a dispute with Gustavo Paez.

This comes after Bahlabane Ba Nthwa had failed to compensate the Venezuelan forward for prematurely terminating his contract in 2020 after he had signed with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM), who later sold their status to Marumo.

Marumo were then handed a 3-year transfer ban on registering new players inherited from former TTM.

However, Bahlabane Ba Nthwa appealed the matter, which led to a settlement agreement with Paez, resulting in lifting the ban.

“We are relieved that the matter has been amicably resolved and that we will be able to plan for the next season,” said the club’s chairman Abram Sello.
