Jele warns Bucs against complacency

Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele has warned his teammates not to take visiting Libya giants Al Ahli Tripoli lightly when they host them in the second leg of the Caf Confederation Cup semifinal at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday.

Jele said the first leg, which they won 2-0, proved their opponents were a difficult team to play as they had to dig deep to get a result away from home.

He is aware that the North Africans may come guns blazing as they look to get an early goal to unsettle them. For that reason, ‘Magents’ feels the job is far from over.

“I think for us it is very important to work hard, the previous game we played against them was very difficult but we managed to get a win, so now we playing at home and we need to make sure that we get results as well,” the veteran defender said.

The Middleburg-born star said they would count on the support of their fans.

“We’ve been playing without the supporters and now we have fans at home, so it’s a big motivation, we need to do it for the team and the supporters. Tomorrow [Sunday] when they come in numbers we need to perform and make them happy,” Jele told the media on Saturday.

The 1995 Caf Champions League winners are no strangers to cup finals on the continent after reaching the Champions League final in 2013 and Caf Confederation Cup final in 2015 where they subsequently lost both the finals to Al Ahly of Egypt and Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia respectively.

The Buccaneers will be looking to make it through to the final when they take on Tripoli at Orlando Stadium. Kick off is at 18h00.
