Makhubedu heaps praise on international quartet

Sekhukhune United coach MacDonald Makhubedu has heaped praise on his players called up for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Babina Noko have four players picked for national team duty. Captain Yusuf Maart and Nyiko Mobbie are part of the Bafana Bafana squad. At the same time, goalkeeper of the season nominee Toaster Nsabata and midfielder Rodrick Kabwe will turn out for the Zambia national team.

Makhubedu feels there’s something good they are doing for his players to be recognised. “As a team, we are happy for the players. We are growing as a club; it’s good for the technical team and their teammates. Every time they get call ups, we get happy as a team, and it shows that there’s something good we are doing every day,” he said.

“And also, the competition they have with their teammates shows we are pushing there, they are pushing each other very well, and I’m happy for them they are going for big national teams like Chipolopolo and Bafana Bafana.

“It shows that we’ve got depth and quality in our team; if they were not pushed, they were not gonna get their call ups, and we wish them luck and wish their national teams luck in the next qualifiers.”

Nsabata is Zambia’s number one goalkeeper, while Mobbie has been a regular for Bafana in recent games.
