Mako in ‘stable condition’ after collision with Ofori

Orlando Pirates defender Paseka Mako is out of the woods, and the football fraternity can now breathe a sigh of relief.

On Wednesday, the Soweto giants confirmed that Mako is in a stable condition after a collision with Richard Ofori the night before in a DStv Premiership clash against Baroka at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Mako was seemingly knocked unconscious due to the collision and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance as the game ended in a goalless stalemate.

“Following the emergency injury involving defender Paseka Mako in the DStv Premiership clash against Baroka FC last night, Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that the 28-year-old is in a stable condition,” said Pirates in a statement.

“The doctor has revealed that CT scan results have shown no signs of skull fracture or any brain haemorrhage; however, the player has sustained fracture to the face and nose.

“He will remain in High Care and will be assessed by the neurosurgeon again this morning.”
