Mokoena eyeing more silverware with Masandawana

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena, who will be lifting his first PSL trophy in his professional career, says the aim is to win more silverware with the Brazilians.

On Saturday, Sundowns will lift their fifth DStv Premiership title after their final league tie against Royal AM. The 25-year-old who linked with the Tshwane giants in January from crosstown rivals SuperSport United made nine appearances for Sundowns in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

“Personally, this trophy means that I need to win more league titles because this is the first of many more to come. I need to win more league titles for Mamelodi Sundowns, and I am definitely looking forward to the next season,” Mokoena said.

Mokoena crossed the floor from another Tshwane side in January and says he has picked things he needs to improve in the coming seasons. “My season so far is ok. I found the guys in the middle of the season already, and they had already done the best for the team, and I joined in January. There are other things which I need to improve on going into the next season, and I know which are those things to improve in my game.”

“It’s the proudest moment of my life, and I’ve been looking forward to winning the league, and now I will be doing it with Mamelodi Sundowns. I’m very happy. I am enjoying myself at Mamelodi Sundowns and looking forward to the next season.”

Kickoff at Chartsworth Stadium is at 15:00.
