Musonda’s solo goal earns Swallows win over Sekhukhune

Mwape Musonda’s solo strike was enough to earn Swallows FC a 1-0 win over Sekhukhune United at Emirates Airline Park Stadium on Saturday evening.

Babina Noko were doing a fine job of frustrating the visitors in the opening stage of the first period.

But Dylan Kerr’s troops did not just sit back and watch their opponents taking charge of the showpiece.

The first half stoppage time changed the complexion of the game as both sides were testing each other’s goals.

The half-time break whistle blew, with the scoreline still goalless.

Maswaiswai dominated the second half as a result, edging in front through Musonda’s goal in the 49th minute.

Sekhukhune, who battled hard to find an equaliser were the ones left frustrated this time around as luck was not on their side.

In the last minutes of the showdown, The Dube Birds had plenty of chances to make the result more comfortable, but it was never meant to be.

However, one goal proved enough for Swallows who picked up maximum points to move up from the relegation zone.
