Nascimento on joining Royal AM

Defender Ricardo Nascimento has opened up about joining KwaZulu-Natal’s Royal AM and details his enduring hunger for success at the club.

The Brazilian international joins John Maduka’s side on a free transfer following his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Nascimento expressed his gratitude to his former club and all of those who have made his stay at Chloorkop the best since he arrived in the country.

“My departure at Sundowns was due to a request from the club, which needed to open a foreigner spot in the team for the remainder of the season,” said Nascimento.

“I’m very grateful to Mamelodi Sundowns for all these years I have donned their T-shirt and for all the titles and achievements we have been able to conquer together as a team.

“I would also like to thank President Patrice Motsepe for all the support he has always given to my family and me.

“I’m very happy to announce that I will be joining a new family here in South Africa, the Royal AM family.”

The 35-year-old footballer also sent a heart-warming message to AM’s President Shauwn Mkhize: “Thank you, President MamMkhize, for opening the doors of the club for me, for allowing me to wear another important shirt in South African football. I will do my best for Royal AM.”

Now, the centre back has his sights set on forcing his way into Royal AM’s defence with plenty of competition for places.

Without a doubt, Nascimento’s experience and quality will be significant for Royal AM.
