Nigerian forward issues ‘come get me plea’ to PSL teams

Nigeria forward Tunde Adeniji is eyeing a move to South Africa ahead of the upcoming season. With local teams struggling to find proven goal scorers, a move for one of the top finishers would come in handy should the player seal a deal with a suitable club.

The 26-year-old striker’s ambition is to join a team that would participate in the CAF competition as continental football is deemed the highest level of African football.

“He’s a player who wants to play for a team that plays in the Champions League, he wants to challenge himself in South Africa, and he wants to stay stable because he’s been moving around a lot. Maybe coming to Africa would make him stable and settle in the PSL,” said Ntobatsi Masegela of Footballerz Sports Marketing.

The goal-poacher, nicknamed Tiger for his explosive runs and goal-scoring prowess, spent the 2021/22 campaign in Saudi Arabia with Al Adalh and scored eight goals while contributing nine assists in only six appearances. The previous season, he turned out for Al Feiha, another Saudi outfit, and scored 11 goals in 7 games.

“We speaking of a player who can push Peter Shalulile of Sundowns to score more goals because that’s the type of competition he brings in all the teams he play for. If you check in the PSL, there’s less competition when it comes to strikers, there are few No9s, so this is a player who can be used as the main striker or as a false 9. He’s a very explosive striker, a goal-poacher, a complete African striker.” added the agent.

With DStv Premiership already having imports from Nigeria in Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah and AmaZulu FC striker Augustine Kwem, Adeniji will be looking to join his countrymen in South Africa.
