PSL club closing in on Samir Nurkovic

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic could soon return to the South African topflight with indications that a PSL club is closing in on him.

Nurkovic recently parted ways with Royal AM two months after joining them on a free transfer from Kaizer Chiefs.

NURKOVIC WAS UNPAID

According to a source close to the player, Nurkovic didn’t receive his salary for two months at the KwaZulu-Natal side. During the period, he was battling a knee injury sustained during pre-season.

And FARPost has it on good authority that the Nurkovic camp has taken further steps and referred the case to FIFA.

With the goal-scoring reputation he built at Chiefs in his first season, where he scored 14 goals, Nurkovic is seemingly still a wanted man, although he struggled for form in the last two seasons and battled injuries.

TS Galaxy and an unnamed team overseas have shown interest in acquiring the services of Nurkovic.

“Nurkovic’s agent (Dajan Simac) had a chat with Tim Sukazi, and we will see if they will accept the offer,” revealed the source.

“They [Galaxy] have given Nurkovic an offer. The agent had a conversation with Sukazi over the phone, but the Nurkovic camp is waiting for the club to make the offer official, in writing, with the right terms and all.

“Talks are still ongoing but so far, so good. They are also talking with another club overseas,” added the source.

However, information reaching this publication is that Nurkovic wants to stay in South Africa.

“He will likely make a move in January. He might leave South Africa, but he wants to stay as he loves the country,” added the insider.

Nurkovic arrived in South Africa in 2019 and played 78 games for Amakhosi, scoring 21 goals and providing 10 assists.

In Royal AM colours, he didn’t make any official appearances but featured in the Macufe Cup against his former team, Chiefs, in September.
