Pule Mmodi update that will thrill Chiefs fans

Golden Arrows talisman Pule Mmodi has been in sensational form for the Durban side, and a new update on his future is likely to thrill Kaizer Chiefs followers.

Mmodi was linked with Chiefs in the last transfer window, but the Soweto giants were unable to prize him away from KwaZulu Natal.

According to reports, the two clubs did not reach an agreement regarding his transfer fee, leaving the midfielder frustrated.

PULE KEEN ON MOVE

Indications are that the 29-year-old is still keen on making the switch to Naturena with the possibility of a January move.

FARPost has been led to believe that after Mmodi’s recent performances, there are talks of selling him in January.

“Mmodi is still targeted in Gauteng. The talks have resumed to sign him in January,” a source reveals to FARPost.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the current season, Mmodi could walk out for free in June should they not sell him.

“There’s the pressure of losing him for free come end of the season, so they will consider selling him in January, [to Chiefs],” added the insider.

Abafana Bes’thende, however, denied that talks were ongoing regarding Mmodi. The club’s media officer Comfort Thusi said official communication would be made if ever the need arose.

ARROWS COMMENT

“There is no such. Whoever told you that was misleading you. The club will communicate once there is something to say about matters of the team,” Thusi told FARPost.

Even though the club is denying it, it is understood that Mmodi wants a move to Chiefs and believes it will take his career to the next level.

This season, he has featured in all 13 DStv Premiership games for Arrows. He has scored four goals and provided one assist. His ingenuity recently earned him a national team call-up when Bafana Bafana played Botswana and Sierra Leone.
