Spain set to allow stadiums to return to full capacity

Spain’s health ministry confirmed on Wednesday that fans would be allowed to fill soccer stadiums again for the first time since the pandemic struck.

As of 4 March, stadiums in Spain will no longer cater for a limited number of fans at soccer matches.

However, fans still need to wear face masks as life is slowly getting back to normal.

“From the weekend of March 4, sporting events, both outdoors and indoors, will see their capacities raised to 100%, given the satisfactory evolution of all the epidemiological indicators,” said health minister Carolina Darias.

According to reports in Spain, more than 10 million cases of the virus have been recorded in Spain, with 97,000 deaths.

Levels have dropped to 1,060 cases per 100,000 people over the last 14 days against 3,418 on January 21.
