We will continue to fight – Kobola

Baroka suffered their 14th defeat of the season, the highest loss by any club in the current DStv Premiership, after going down 5-1 to Cape Town City on Sunday.

The result put them at the bottom of the log with 17 points, one behind second and third from bottom clubs, TS Galaxy and Swallows.

With seven matches and 21 points to play for before the season ends, Baroka assistant coach Vincent Kobola has vowed to keep fighting for survival.

“A very frustrating night, we got a hiding, and it shows that Cape Town City is at a very high level, and we played like a team that is not fighting relegation,” he said.

“It was frustrating and disappointing, the drama of three red cards, three penalties and the six goals.

“We will not give up now; we have to carry on fighting. We have seven games to go. Again these seven games are like a final for us, so we need to collect points, especially at home because we are desperate for points, but we will go back and work hard again,” added Kobola.

Baroka’s next five league matches:

v AmaZulu (H)
v Orlando Pirates (H)
v Swallows (A)
v Golden Arrows (H)
v Chippa United (A)
