Zuma vows to stay out of trouble

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Dumisani Zuma has vowed to stay away from trouble and focus on his game after AmaZulu gave him a new lease of life.

The Durban side offered him a four-year deal after the Soweto giants transfer-listed him at the end of the season, citing disciplinary issues.

Zuma has since opened up on his departure from Chiefs, where he spent the past five seasons.

The 27-year-old reunites with his former teammates at the KwaZulu-Natal side, such as George Maluleka, who also joined during the current transfer window.

Speaking to FARPost on Wednesday morning in Polokwane, Zuma insists he wants to use the opportunity at Usuthu to get back to his best.

“I think it’s very important (to do well) because, from my previous club at Kaizer Chiefs, a lot has been said. So, I think it’s time for me to prove people wrong and focus on my game and bring back my passion for the game,” he said.

“I need to do well because everyone has a family. So, it’s very important for me to be dedicated and get back to my best again. I wouldn’t say there is anything specific I was supposed to do, and I control what I can control. What people say doesn’t bother me, I know what happened, and I don’t want to talk a lot about it because I am in a new team now. There are new things that I want to achieve,” added the former Bloemfontein Celtic player.

“This season, l will try my best to get back to the form I know, enjoy my sport and stay away from trouble.”
