Mothiba returns to parent club

Lebo Mothiba has returned to his parent club after a successful loan.

After returning to full fitness following a year on the sidelines due to a knee injury, South African striker Lebo Mothiba was loaned out to Ligue 1 club Estac Troyes for the second half of the 2021/22 season.

The 26-year-old scored two goals to help Troyes finish in 15th spot on the log standings with 38 points from 38 games.

Mothiba has now returned to his parent club RC Strasbourg Alsace as they begin preparations for the 2022/23 campaign.

Strasbourg had a very impressive showing last season as they managed to clinch a top six finish and narrowly missed out on qualifying for European football.

Since joining the Blue and Whites in 2018, the striker has played 54 Ligue 1 games, netting 12 goals.

He was one of their key players as they clinched their fourth Coupe de la Ligue trophy in 2019, beating EA Guingamp 4-1 on penalties in the final.
