Pirates challenge PSL ruling on Tim Sukazi Stadium drama

Premier Soccer League prosecutor Advocate Zola Majavu has confirmed that Orlando Pirates have appealed the decision by the PSL to fine and order them to issue an apology regarding the tussle involving TS Galaxy Chairman Tim Sukazi at Orlando Stadium last year.

Pirates were found guilty of denying Sukazi access into the dressing room at the stadium ahead of the DStv Premiership clash.

After appearing before the PSL DC, the Buccaneers were fined R100 000 and ordered to write an apology to the league.

In a statement released on Thursday, Majavu confirmed that the club has decided to take the matter to SAFA for arbitration.

“I can confirm that Orlando Pirates has elected to take the DC ruling in respect of its case pertaining to the manhandling or Mr Sukazi on appeal as their perfectly entitled to do so,” revealed Majavu.

“That appeal will be adjudicated under the hospices of SAFA, and once that matter has been finalised, I will confirm the outcome thereof,” confirmed Majavu.
