Real Madrid extend Luka Modrić stay

Real Madrid have extended the stay of midfielder Luka Modrić until 30 June 2023.

The 36-year-old signed his new deal with the Spanish giants into an 11th season, having helped the side clinch the UEFA Champions League and LaLiga title this campaign.

Modrić joined Real from Tottenham Hotspur back in 2012 and has continued to regularly start in midfield since then.

He has won 15 major trophies in 10 seasons at the club – including five Champions League, three LaLiga titles, one Copa del Rey, four Spanish Super Cups, three European Super Cups and four Club World Cups. He also won the 2018 Ballon d’Or.

The Croatian international has played 436 games across all competitions for Real, found the back of the net on 31 occasions and weighed in 73 assists in the process.

He won his 150th international cap in Croatia’s 1-all draw with France on Monday.
