Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted at Carrington on Wednesday, taking part in a training session with the rest of the Manchester United squad.

The striker was given indefinite compassionate leave after he and his partner Georgina Rodriguez announced in a statement that their newborn son had died.

He was missed by Man United on Tuesday as the club suffered a 4-0 defeat against Liverpool in a Premier League clash.

Rival fans united to show support for Ronaldo and his family at Anfield as both Liverpool and Manchester supporters observed 60 seconds of applause in the seventh minute of their Premier League match. The minute-long demonstration was emphatically observed, and Liverpool fans sang “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.

Man United were back in training on Wednesday and Ronaldo was seen arriving at the complex, with numerous sources noting that the 37-year-old took part in a full session with the rest of his teammates before leaving.

However, there is no indication as to whether the Portuguese international will form part of the Man United squad that travels to face Arsenal on Saturday.

The club stressed that he will be given as much time as he needs to support both himself and his family.
