Siyanda Nyanga has been tipped to break into the Pretoria Callies side by his agent after struggling to command a regular place in the first half of the season.
The 19-year-old playmaker arrived at Callies from Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the season and has yet to make an impact.
However, his agent Jazzman Mahlakgane knows the 2021 DStv Diski Challenge Rewired Player of the Tournament will have to prove himself in the GladAfrica Championship.
“I always tell my players that in every situation, they need to adapt quickly. When a new coach comes, they need to adapt. You have to fight for your position,” Mahlakgane said when asked if he was concerned about his client’s lack of game time.
Callies coach Joel Masutha quit in November, leaving former Kaizer Chiefs striker Edwin Setayitayi in charge on an interim basis.
Mahlakgane believes the teenager still has much time to fight his way into the team. “He’s still a young boy; he has much time to fight his way in the team,” he said.
The talented playmaker started his career in the ranks of Zondi United in Dobsonville and caught the eye of Sundowns coaches aged 16.
At Downs, he rose to become an influential player in the MDC side and the GladAfrica stint was aimed at taking his game to the next level.
His agent added that his loan stint would carry on until the end of the season. “If the coaches [at Sundowns] say he’s not ready, it’ll probably be extended.”
Callies have struggled for form this season, losing 11 out of 17 games. They only managed five wins, leaving them languishing in 13th place.
