Sekhukhune United are in discussions with Orlando Pirates over the extension of Tshepho Mashiloane’s loan move for another season after the defender had an impressive stint with the Limpopo-based side.
Mashiloane joined Sekhukhune at the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season from Pirates after a shaky start to life in Gauteng. The right-back initially signed with the Soweto giants in July 2025 and featured in the first two league matches for the club, where they lost against Sekhukhune and Marumo Gallants.
In the same transfer window, Mashiloane was sent on loan to Sekhukhune to gain top-flight experience, having arrived from Baroka FC, which was participating in the Motsepe Foundation Championship at the time.
After joining Sekhukhune, the 24-year-old has been a regular feature in the starting line-up, proving to be an asset both in defence and attack.
The Limpopo-born defender has made 18 appearances across all competitions for Babina Noko, scoring two goals and providing two assists. And with Mashiloane regaining the form that earned him a move to Pirates, Sekhukhune are keen to keep him for the 2026/27 season to continue his steady growth in the elite league.
SEKHUKHUNE UNITED KEEN ON ANOTHER LOAN FOR TSHEPHO MASHILOANE

A source close to the information has told FARPost that Sekhukhune has already approached Pirates for the possibility of retaining Mashiloane’s services beyond the current campaign. The existing season-long loan deal is set to expire next month.
“Sekhukhune United have shown big interest in keeping Tshepho Mashiloane for another season. He has been one of the important players for the club and chipped in with a few goals. So he has really impressed, and Sekhukhune want him to remain with them for another season,” the insider said.
Meanwhile, Pirates have tough competition in the right wing-back position, which could limit Mashiloane’s chances of getting regular game-time under head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou in the upcoming 2026/27 season.
The Sea Robbers currently have Kamogelo Sebelebele, Deano Van Rooyen, Thabiso Lebitso, and Bandile Shandu competing for the right-back position.
But as the July transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether the two sides will reach an agreement on another loan deal for Mashiloane.
