Why Zwane is happy with wasteful Du Preez

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has explained why he is content and happy with wasteful forward Ashley du Preez.

Zwane is convinced the newly signed attacker is yet to hit top gear and showcase his abilities at the club.

START CONVERTING

He is, however, confident Du Preez is going to get it right, and start converting his goalscoring chances.

This comes after Du Preez missed two sitters on Saturday’s Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates in the DStv Premiership.

Du Preez’s blushes were saved by midfield engine Yusuf Maart who netted the only goal of the match.

The former Sekhukhune captain scored from the centre of the pitch after realising that goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane was off his line.

“This is a game of mistakes, he’s going to get it right I have no doubt about it. One day he’s going to score three we’ll be happy, one day score two,” Zwane told the media.

OVERALL PERFORMANCE

“At the moment it’s part of the game, we have to understand that all the chances we get is because he gets at the right places at the right time.

“Unfortunately, he doesn’t convert them, but next time he will take them and we will all be happy. We’ll fix the finishing as time goes on.

Despite the misses that could have made the game easier for Chiefs, Zwane was satisfied with Du Preez’s overall performance.

“Apart from the chances that he missed, he had a good game. When we were defending he was part of the team he helped us.

“When you look at the way he performed apart from the chances, I think he did very well unfortunately he ran out of steam as well and we had to substitute him,” Zwane added.

The narrow one nil Victory lifted Amkhosi to third on the log with 21 point from 13 encounters.
