We are equal to the task – Mdaka on facing Pirates

Marumo Gallants assistant coach Raymond Mdaka admits their Nedbank Cup last 16 encounter against Orlando Pirates will be a huge task, but they are as capable of coursing an upset.

Gallants will host Pirates at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday evening for a spot in the last eight.

The Limpopo club has been in fine form recently, winning four out of four matches in all competitions.

“This is going to be one of the most difficult games that we have ever played recently,” Mdaka told the media ahead of the match.

“We have been having a better run, but we were not preparing (at training) specifically for this game because we have an objective of trying to build our team. Improve our team and improve our game almost every day.

“The biggest challenge now is that we are facing Pirates and Pirates not just the name but the magnitude of the team itself and the kind of players they have, so it is going to be very tough,” he said.

“But with how we do things and how we play, I think we will be equal to the task. The priority for us was that we play the Nedbank Cup with less pressure by moving away from the relegation because you don’t have that much pressure than when you are at the bottom of the league.”
