West Ham United centre-back Kurt Zouma has pleaded guilty to kicking and slapping a cat after a viral video emerged on social media earlier this year.

The 27-year-old was seen volleying the Bengal cat across his kitchen, before throwing a pair of shoes at it and slapping its head.

Zouma has since admitted two counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.

Meanwhile, Zouma’s brother Yoan, who filmed the incident and posted it on social media, pleaded guilty to one offence following an RSPCA investigation.

The brothers’ addresses have been withheld following a court order.

Prosecutor Hazel Stevens told the court that Kurt could be heard saying: “I swear I’ll kill it, I swear I’ll kill it,” as reported by BBC Sport.
