Shopane and Tukane resurface at Gauteng ABC Motsepe side
Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Itumeleng Shopane and ex-Black Aces winger Tshidiso ‘Dona’ Tukane have resurfaced in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League.
The duo was in action for MM Platinum (La Masia FC) over the weekend in their goalless draw league clash against M Tigers.
Shopane is well known for representing Amakhosi’s reserve side that competes in the DStv Diski Challenge. He also had stints with Cape Town All Stars, Swallows and Pretoria Callies.
The 24-year-old frontman was part of South Africa’s U-20 that participated in the 2016 Cosafa U-20 Cup and the 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
In 2019, Shopane was called up by coach David Notoane to join the South Africa national U-23 football team during the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations that was held in Egypt.
Meanwhile, Tukane, 36, is still playing his heart out for the Eldorado Park-based side and his experience brings a mental boost in the field of play for his fellow young players.
The winger also represented teams such as Jomo Cosmos and Alexandra United FC.
MM Platinum are currently on the summit of Stream B standings with 22 points, just one point ahead of second-placed Dondol Stars.
The side’s next assignment will be against Castric FC away from home on Friday, 18 February at Rosina Sidebane Modiba Sports School at 15h00 in the afternoon.
