Thamsanqa Sangweni joins BCM Stars
Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League outfit BCM Stars have confirmed the acquisition of midfielder, Thamsanqa Sangweni.
The 32-year-old footballer was recently training with Marumo Gallants with the hope of securing a contract but failed to impress the club’s technical team.
In 2017, Sangweni made headlines when he moved from Chippa United to Orlando Pirates on a two-year deal, following in his brother’s (Siyabonga Sangweni) footsteps who had played there for five years.
The Empangeni-born star will be hoping to revive his football career at his new side and help the South African football third-tier club qualify for the ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs.
He previously represented teams such as AmaZulu, Mamelodi Sundowns, Maritzburg United, Mbabane Highlanders just to mention a few.
BCM Stars are currently languishing on the summit of Stream B in the Provincial ABC League with 24 points, level on points with second-placed Sinenkani FC.
The club’s next assignment will be against Matta Milan on Saturday, 26 February at Idutywa Stadium with the kick-off set for 15:00.
