Vusumuzi Ngubane’s solo goal proved to be the difference as Baroka FC claimed a 1-0 win over TS Galaxy in the DStv Premiership clash at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Kgoloko Thobejane’s side looked bright coming out of their disappointing 3-0 defeat to Marumo Gallants in the Limpopo derby this past Wednesday.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 14th minute of the showpiece through Ngubane.
Galaxy tried to get back into the game before the half-time whistle blew, but the visitors couldn’t find a way past Oscarine Masuluke’s goals.
The game went into the interval with the Rockets trailing behind by 1-0.
Back out for the remaining 45 minutes, Bakgaga continued to control the match without too much trouble.
As the second stanza progressed, the Mpumalanga-based outfit responded well to Baroka’s pressure, with the side creating better chances. However, luck was never on their side.
A win is precisely what the home side deserved after an eventful encounter.
As things stand, Baroka remain at the basement of the log standings with 17 points, level on points with Galaxy who are placed 15th on the table.
