Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has raised his concern with the current form of one of his key players Percy Tau.
Tau suffered a muscle injury while on duty at Al Ahly in January this year.
He was forced to miss the Fifa Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
The 27-year-old returned to action during the CAF Champions League clash between Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns clash that took place in Cairo last month.
But Broos has not been impressed with Tau’s form during the five matches he has played since his return from injury.
“Percy has a little problem at the moment. He is not the Percy Tau that we are used to seeing,” said Broos while announcing the Bafana squad for the upcoming international friendly matches.
“I know him very well from Belgium. Before Christmas, he had a few injuries, and he didn’t play for weeks, so I thought that might be the problem. Because he didn’t have the tempo of the games, but now I saw him play on Saturday (for Al Ahly).
“He is not Percy Tau. So I don’t know what is happening with him. But I will talk to him. I have to know (the problem) because he can help us a lot with his talent. He can help us a lot, but we need the best Percy Tau,” he concluded.
