Broos explains why Bafana failed to beat Guinea
Bafana Bafana suffered from a lack of aerial strength and poor decision making in the final third in a goalless draw with Guinea, according to coach Hugo Broos.
Broos troops created several good goal-scoring opportunities but failed to convert and struggled aerially during the international friendly at the Guldensporen Stadion in Kortrijk, Belgium, on Friday night.
“We had six or seven chances, so if there was a team that should have won, it’s South Africa,” said Broos.
“We had a little problem with the tall guys of Guinea with the aerial duels, but on the football level, we played a good game. I’m pleased with the performance.
“The result is not so important even though we would’ve liked to win,” concluded the Bafana mentor.
Bafana will now tackle World Champions France in Lille on Tuesday night.
