Kante to return for Bafana tie
Chelsea midfield dynamo N’Golo Kante looks set to feature in the high profile friendly against Bafana Bafana on Tuesday night.
The Blues midfielder missed Friday’s tie against Ivory Coast after requesting to leave camp for “personal reasons”. Les Bleus beat The Elephants 2-1 courtesy of goals by Olivier Giroud and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
France manager Didier Deschamps confirmed that Kante would be available for Tuesday’s tie set for Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Lille [21h15].
“Kante will be there for the second match. (Presnel) Kimpembe is better and will do the session. Kylian (Mbappe) is not going to do the session because of an ENT infection. I will take stock with him and the medical staff tomorrow.”
Bafana stars will be excited about prospects of clashing with world-renowned stars like Kante, Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe. However, the PSG forward Mbappe remains a doubt.
Bafana played out to an entertaining 0-0 draw against Guinea at the Guldensporen Stadion in their first of two international friendlies in Europe. They will be hoping for a good outing against the reigning world champions.
