Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies were the toast of the night on Saturday when Bambanani Mbane, Jerry Tshabalala and Andisiwe Mgcoyi walked away with top awards.
It came as no surprise as Sundowns Ladies dominated the SA football scene by defending their Super League title in 2021. They also won the inaugural Caf Women’s Champions League.
Mbane was named the Player of the Season at the Super League awards ceremony at the Sandton Convention Centre on Saturday night.
The Coach of the Season accolade went to Sundowns Ladies coach Tshabalala, while Mgcoyi shared the Top Goal Scorers award with Nompumelelo Nyandeni of JVW Girls as they both finished the season on 24 goals.
Nthabiseng Majiya of Richmond Ladies was awarded Young Player of the Season and Regirl Ngobeni UWC Ladies took home the Goalkeeper of the Season after keeping 14 clean sheets last campaign.
The prize money for the winners is yet to be revealed.
