Zimbabwe’s teenage starlet ‘not ready for Europe’, claims coach
Zimbabwe’s hottest teenage sensation Bill Antonio, who made his international debut against Bafana Bafana in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, has caught the eye of Belgian first division club KV Mechelen.
Dynamos coach Tonderayi Ndiraya, however, reckons the winger, who was at some point on the radar of National First Division side Pretoria Callies, is not yet ripe for Europe.
Ndiraya is convinced the 19-year-old still needs to develop his game more at Dynamos before moving abroad.
“I feel that he is still learning, and he hasn’t gotten to a stage where you think he is ready for the European market. I want to be honest,” Ndiraya said.
“As a coach, I would love to have him play more games and gain more experience before going abroad. What is important is for the boy to be consistent.”
