Rowan Human warns Maritzburg teammates against slip-ups

Maritzburg United midfielder Rowan Human has warned his Maritzburg United teammate against any slip-ups as they chase a place in the top eight.

Human expects a tough encounter when they host struggling Swallows FC in a DStv Premiership fixture on Saturday.

The Team of Choice will be aiming to get back to winning ways after a one-all draw with Sekhukhune United last time out.

“Both teams need maximum points as we are in difficult positions. It won’t be an easy game; Swallows will come out fighting. They will not let us get the points easily, the same way we feel we will not let them get maximum points,” said Human.

“We have to work hard and perform to our best. It’s our home game. We need to be at our best. They are a good side; they have been just unfortunate in their last games. They are a big threat. They can kill us.”

The 21-year-old further stated that the strategy to winning the encounter would be to play together as a team.

“The key is to being a unit, listening to what the coach has to say. With a solid unit, come Saturday, no one can beat us,” he added.

He knows that winning the encounter will “boost our chances of making it into the top eight”. But, by his own admission, “it won’t be easy”.

Victory on Saturday will see the Team of Choice cement their place in 12th position as they continue their quest of making it to the top eight.

The former Bidvest Wits star has one goal and an assist from 17 appearances this season.
