Shalulile eager to break more records
Namibian hitman Peter Shalulile has been scoring goals for fun since joining Mamelodi Sundowns back in 2020.
He is leading the Golden Boot race with 15 goals in the DStv Premiership.
Overall, Shalulile has found the back of the net 21 times this campaign and became the first Sundowns player to break the 20-goal barrier in two consecutive seasons since club legend Daniel Mudau.
The 28-year-old striker expressed his desire to break more records. “It has not been an easy journey of reaching such a goal, but it’s more of journeys that are more possible to break,” he said.
“With the games that remain, I am just aiming for the team to do well as a whole. My personal achievements and goals are to score 10 more goals which is possible, and I believe with my teammates that are there to help me that it’s much more possible to do it.”
Shalulile is a workhorse and when asked about his work rate that has played a role in his milestone, he said: “There are certain things that I work on to improve my game: to do extra work and listen to the coaches because they know what they are doing.
“They are there to teach and we are there to learn. I also watch a lot of clips of football players that play in my position.”
