SuperSport edge Chiefs at The Calabash

Thamsanqa Gabuza scored the only goal of the game to defeat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 in the DStv Premiership tie at FNB Stadium on Saturday night.

The showdown got off to a cagey start, as both sides struggled to find any real momentum.

As the half wore on, Amakhosi and Matsatsantsa kept getting further away from their goals with the intensity and pace of the contest dropping drastically due to waterlogged pitch.

The half-time whistle blew with nothing separate the two teams after end-to-end first half.

SuperSport started the second half in confident fashion, looking to find an opener.

The goal finally came through for the Tshwane-based outfit in the 68th minute, courtesy of Gabuza.

It was a sad day for the Glamour Boys’ supporters who just returned back to The Calabash to watch their club play after two years.

Earlier on at DHL Stadium, Cape Town City and Royal AM shared the spoils following a 1-all draw. Orebotse Mongae opened the scoring in the 8th minute, whereas the Citizens levelled matters through Zukile Mkhize’s own goal in the 67th minute of the second stanza.
