Ntshangase still hopeful of a breakthrough at Marumo
Having managed only a few appearances since his much-publicised move to Marumo Gallants at the beginning of the season, midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase still wants to fight for a starting position in the team.
Ntshangase has played just three times under coach Dan Malesela this season with intensified rumours of an imminent exit.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Nedbank Cup semifinal match against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila scheduled for Friday in Thohoyandou, the 28-year-old says he knows what coach Malesela requires from him to make it into the team, and he is working on it.
“I am still adjusting, and the team is still fine. For me, it’s a privilege to play football after being on the sidelines for a long time,” said Ntshangase.
“It’s not easy (not getting game time), but I am pushing at training, and I know what I have to do. It’s normal for every player to get frustrated when you don’t get game time, but I know what I have to do: work hard and utilise the opportunity when I get one.
“Nah (I am not losing hope), I am still good. My family keeps encouraging me. It will depend on the coach (for me to get game time) because that is his decision,” added Ntshangase.
“He has explained why I am not playing regularly, but that’s something I can’t share. As far as I know, I see myself at the club beyond this season.”
