Marumo Gallants ‘sorting out’ transfer ban issue
Marumo Gallants coach Dan Malesela is confident that by the time the transfer window period reopens in the offseason, the club would have sorted out their transfer ban issue.
The club has reportedly been handed a three-window transfer ban for failing to compensate striker Gustavo Paez.
Marumo who bought their status from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila ‘inherited’ a dispute between Paez and the former owners of the club.
This comes after the club were ordered to pay the Venezuelan striker for unlawfully terminating his two-year contract, which was terminated a few days after he signed in 2020.
The club has since appealed that decision with FIFA.
Speaking ahead of their DStv Premiership match against Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday evening, Malesela remains optimistic that the issue will be sorted soon.
“I think we will be sorted by the time it (transfer window period) reopens,” said Malesela.
“There are plans that are being put in place, so I think we will be sorted. For now, yah it is at it is but I think by the time we reopen we will be sorted.
“I understand everything (transfer ban). I just don’t want to go into details and say this is what is happening but I know that there is a way that we will be able to solve this thing,” added Malesela.
