Chiefs, Sundowns share the spoils
Keagan Dolly had a late penalty saved as Kaizer Chiefs, and Mamelodi Sundowns shared the spoils in an exciting DStv Premiership match played at the FNB Stadium on Sunday. Level on 1-1 with just six minutes to go, Dolly had his spot-kick stopped by Reyaad Pieterse.
The first half was a see-saw affair, with action swinging from one end to the next. The hosts wasted a few gilt-edged chances in the first half. Khama Billiat was the main culprit after failing to connect a Keagan Dolly cross in the 8thminute.
In the early stages of the second half, Sundowns looked the better side, and Themba Zwane could have put them in the lead in the 48th minute, but his header missed the target by inches.
Aubrey Modiba opened the scoresheet in the 48th minute with a well-struck shot from outside the box.
Zwane could have extended the lead in the 71st minute after a well-worked move by Lebo Maboe, but he shot wide.
Phathutshedzo Nange scored the equaliser in the 76th minute when he volleyed a floating ball in the box.
