I think we are cursed – Dylan Kerr
Swallows coach Dylan Kerr has once again lamented his side’s inability to convert the chances they create during matches.
A 0-0 draw against Chippa United on Saturday means The Birds remain second from bottom, tied with bottom-placed Baroka on 25 points with one match remaining.
They will face Kaizer Chiefs in their last match of the season, and a win can see them save their status while a defeat or a draw will mean they either get relegated or get the last chance in the relegation playoffs, depending on the results of other relegation candidates.
But Kerr has urged his charges to be more clinical in front of goals.
“We have dominated the game as we have done in a lot of PSL matches. I think we have got this curse of not being able to put the ball in the back of the net,” Kerr told the media after the match.
“There are no expectations. We need to win,” he said, referring to their all-important match against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
“We need to win and hope Chippa can beat Galaxy, and we hope that Maritzburg beats Baroka. Baroka could get out of this, Galaxy could get out of this, and we could get relegated realistically.
“We could get relegated if we can’t score a goal with that much dominance. We have missed some (chances) in the previous games, we have missed some sitters, but we have got to be more clinical. Players have to be more adventurous in the penalty box,” he said.
