Eva Nga claims he is weighing up offers from ‘big clubs’

Cameroon forward Bienvenu Eva Nga has all but confirmed that he is headed for the Chippa United exit as he weighs offers from ‘big clubs’. Nga, who still has a one-year extension option with Chippa, has been linked to several clubs after scoring 10 goals in 28 matches this season.

Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United and AmaZulu are some of the clubs reportedly keen on signing him for next season. “We are getting many offers, but we’ll see offers from local and big names after Saturday,” said the 29-year-old striker.

The Chilli Boys play their last game of the season at home against relegation-threatened TS Galaxy, after which he will make a decision. The marauding forward is reportedly unhappy at the Eastern Cape side over financial issues. The club recently said that if there are offers for the former Bidvest Wits man, they will listen to them.

Meanwhile, Nga and his Chilli Boys side will be looking to put the final nail in the coffin of relegation-threatened Galaxy when the clubs lock horns in their final season match at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. “Every game is important for us; we never take any game easy, especially the last game of the season; we must enjoy and close with victory and make the supporters happy,” added the talisman.

Chippa are in 12th place and safe from relegation, but interim coach Kurt Lentjies would want to finish the term strong after taking over from Gavin Hunt in November. The 37-year-old will return to the field and play what should be his swansong game. Last week, the former attacking midfielder revealed that he would play 27 minutes as the curtain comes down on Chippa’s 2021/22 term.

“As the chairman [Siviwe Mpengesi] promised me after I played my last game against Maritzburg United, I will definitely walk into the field to play 27 minutes this last game for my farewell. “I will play for 27 minutes and coach the rest. That’s our agreement with the chairman,” he said.
