How many Champions League finals have Real Madrid won?

Real Madrid lifted the Champions League trophy for a record 14th time after beating Liverpool 1-0.

It was a repeat of the 2018 final, in which Real won 3-1, and once again, the Spanish side emerged victorious after a goal from Vinicius Junior.

The club’s rich history in European competition dates back to 1956 when they first lifted the European Cup following victory against Reims at the Parc des Princes.

Before 2018, they previously met Liverpool in the 1980-81 final in Paris, albeit at the Parc des Princes instead of the Stade de France, before the European Cup was rebranded as the Champions League.

Although the club have remained consistently successful in European competition through the decades, evidenced by the club participating in over a quarter of all European Cup and Champions League finals in history.

The last decade, however, has been a particular era of success as they lifted the Champions League four times in five seasons between 2013 and 2018.

After Real’s 14 Champions League triumphs, AC Milan are a distant second with 7 wins.
