Shane Roberts returns to CT City after TS Galaxy loan spell
After a loan spell with TS Galaxy, Shane Roberts will return to his club Cape Town City. The 23-year-old endured a torrid spell under Sead Ramovic after joining the Rockets in the January transfer window on a short-term deal.
Roberts failed to establish himself as a regular starter in the Tim Sukazi-owned side, managing only five appearances in all competitions.
The Cape Town-born midfielder broke into the scene in 2018 after graduating from the Mother City-based side’s junior ranks to the first team and made 35 appearances for the club.
He had hoped that a move to Gauteng would help him get the much-needed game time, but with Galaxy battling relegation, coach Ramovic had no regular place for him in his team.
With Cape Town City participating in the CAF Champions League next season, Shane Roberts will be looking to play a pivotal role for Eric Tinkler’s side as they look to compete on all fronts.
Continental football will not be new for him after making three appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup campaign in 2018 in City colours.
