Ex-Chiefs duo to reunite with former clubs
Kaizer Chiefs were the first club to make a massive clearout as Arthur Zwane prepares to steer the Amakhosi ship forward.
At least ten players were shipped out, and the club has since entered the market to sign new players. Zitha Kwinika, an academy graduate of the club, and Ashley Du Preez joined the Soweto giants from Stellenbosch FC.
This was after the club released Bernard Parker, Dumisani Zuma, Samir Nurkovic, Lazarous Kambole, Daniel Cardoso, Lebogang Manyama, Leonardo Castro, Daniel Akpeyi, Kearyn Baccus and Anthony Agay.
FARPost can reveal that two of the released players are on the verge of finding new homes. Zambian side forward Kambole looks likely to settle for a home outside South Africa, with Tanzania’s Young Africans and his former club Zesco leading the race for his signature.
Manyama is reportedly in talks with his former club Cape Town City. The 31-year-old had a memorable season at the club, clinching the player of the season award in the 2016/17 season. He then moved to Turkish side Konyaspor before spending four years at Chiefs.
City are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of next season in which they will participate in the Caf Champions League.
