CONFIRMED: Makola pens new deal with CT City
As reported by FARPost a month ago, Mpho Makola has extended his stay at Cape Town City until June 2023.
The veteran midfielder joined the Citizens back in July 2019 from the Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.
He previously represented teams such as ASD Cape Town and Free State Stars before moving to Bucs.
Ever since joining the Cape club, the 36-year-old has made 78 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and contributing four assists in the process.
‘Bibo’, as he’s popularly known within football cycles, made the headlines when he was banned from football for two months after pushing assistant referee Cledwin Baloyi following City’s MTN8 final defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in the penalty shootout in Durban on October 30 last year.
However, his experience is expected to come in handy for Eric Tinkler’s youthful squad, especially in terms of a mental boost on the field of play.
