FARPost Cup top player attracts interest of PSL sides
The FARPost Cup player of the tournament, Sekgobela Masilo, has reportedly caught the interest of a number of PSL sides whose scouts were in attendance.
The speedy Polokwane LFA winger had a fine run in the inaugural FARPost Cup hosted at the Mchana Sports Grounds in Indemark under the Blouberg Municipality.
“I’m so happy for him for being voted player of the tournament and his contributions on the day. I still believe that he has a lot to offer to the game and achieve more,” said his coach, Pine Nkhwashu, the man who discovered Royal AM forward Victor Letsoalo.
The 20-year-old gave defences a torrid time with his speed, immaculate ball control and finishing. “Unfortunately, he was on the losing side [after a penalty shootout], but he has done well for himself and the team.”
FARPost hosted a youth tournament as the country celebrates Youth Month. Several top scouts and coaches attended the event, including Mamelodi Sundowns scout Esrom Nyandoro, Black Leopards coach Joel Masutha, Mpho Maleka of Marumo Gallants and Matsimela Thokha of Baroka.
This publication can confirm that there has been interest from more than one club for the player who hails from Turfloop.
His team lost 4-3 on penalties after playing a goalless draw in the final. Polokwane FA beat Blouberg to book a place in the final.
