Mosimane pens emotional farewell message telling Al Ahly fans they shall meet again
Coach Pitso Mosimane has penned an emotional farewell to Al Ahly supporters following his exit from the Egyptian giants, telling them that they shall meet ‘again.’
“Al Hamdulila. Shukran. Club of the Century. The Best in the Continent. Thanks for the opportunity and History. You gave me love, chanted my name and gave me the outmost respect. Eshalla, we meet again. Love the team,” he tweeted.
Mosimane left Al Ahly despite the team’s board reportedly having wanted him to stay on despite intense criticism he faced for losing in the CAF Champions League final to Wydad Casablanca.
The South Africa’s management firm also released a statement touting the achievements of the former Bafana Bafana mentor who delivered two CAF Champions League titles within two years.
Mosimane also announced that he was leaving with his backroom team.
“Therefore, I am sad to announce that I together with my technical team, Kabelo Rangoaga, Musi Matlaba and Kyle Solomon will be leaving Al Ahly SC with immediate effect,” he added.
With his rich resume, Mosimane should not be short of potential suitors across the continent and even in the Gulf region.
