Marumo identifies Malesela’s replacement

Polokwane City coach Duncan Lechesa and Frenchman Romain Folz have emerged as frontrunners for the vacant head coach position at Marumo Gallants.

Gallants are in search for a new coach after parting ways with Dan Malesela.

Both Lechesa and Folz are believed to be in negotiations with the 2022 Nedbank Cup finalists.

FARPost caught up with Lechesa on the sidelines of the ABC Motsepe League national playoffs at the North West University in Potchefstroom to gather if he was on the verge of joining the club.

“This thing (romours) of me joining Marumo even last season before Dan (Malesela) joined them I was linked with the job,” said Lechesa.

“But no one has spoken to me and I am Polokwane City coach and I will stick with that. I am happy at Polokwane City, I am okay.

“Even if the approach can come let me respect my Chairman (Johhny Mogaladi), the team, my colleague Dan because sometimes it’s so sad and at the same time it’s like you had been waiting for that moment,” explained Lechesa.

“I am still at Polokwane City and I am okay there.”
