Marumo Gallants appoint new head coach

Marumo Gallants have confirmed the appointment of Romain Folz as the club’s new coach.

Coach Folz replaces Dan Malesela, whose contract was not renewed by the club.

The Frenchman previously managed teams such as West Virginia, Bechem United, Chamois Niort, Ashanti Gold and most recently Botswana-based outfit Township Rollers.

“After much deliberation, the club opted to bring in coach Folz to lead the team into the next phase of the club’s journey,” read Bahlabane Ba Nthwa’s statement.

The 31-year-old mentor will begin his duties as the club’s head coach on July 1st.

“We welcome coach Romain Folz to the team, he brings an impressive and energetic approach to football that we believe will be a great fit for Marumo Gallants,” said the club chairman Abram Sello.

Meanwhile, the new man in charge added: “I am very happy and honoured to join Marumo Gallants and a league such as the PSL. My first words are for our fans. I can only tell them that all the efforts and work we will put in every single day is for them.

“We want to make them proud, and I will dedicate all my time and energy to reach that goal.”
