PSL unveils a new sponsorship partner
Premier Soccer League Chairman Dr Irvin Khoza has announced a new sponsorship that will be replacing the Telkom Knockout Cup.
Telkom who worked with the PSL since the 2006/7 season, when they replaced Coca-Cola pulled out their sponsorship after the 2019/20 season.
During a media briefing held media briefing held at the PSL headquarters in Parktown on Tuesday morning, Khoza revealed that Carling Black Label are the new sponsors of the League Cup.
The name of the competition will be the Carling Knockout Cup.
“Today, I’m happy to announce a new sponsor and partner, Carling Black Label,” said Khoza.
“There is a gap in our calendar, the Telkom used to be played between October and December, so we tried to find space for our new competition.
“We have agreed as a league, the Exco is aware, to launch the Carling Knockout Cup. We’ve discovered that in and around December people need more football. We’ve agreed to a bit of innovation to go into it.” he said.
The sponsorship is for the next three years with an option for another three years.
