Ex-Chiefs defender’s target after joining a PSL side
Sekhukhune United new signing Daniel Cardoso has revealed his first target after sealing a two-year deal with the club.
The centre-back who linked with his new club as a free agent following his release by Kaizer Chiefs last month was one of the many players that were shown the exit door by the Soweto giants as they are assembling a new squad under the new leadership of coach Arthur Zwane.
The 33-year-old is expected to be the backbone of the Babina Noko defense having played 185 matches in seven seasons, scoring 12 goals in the process.
“I’ve just joined Sekhukhune United family, they have ambition judging on the signings they’ve made, and I’m grateful to be part of this journey. I have a lot of ambition to win trophies. Unfortunately, I haven’t won trophies in my career and I hope I can win trophies in the future with my teammates,” Cardoso said.
“I’d love to be a part of that, I think with my leadership skills I can help a few of the youngsters. My long-term goals are to finish in the top four. I have a lengthy contract here.”
Babina Noko also confirmed the signing of right-back Katlego Mkhabela from the Motsepe Foundation Championship side, Free State Stars FC. The experienced 26-year-old made 25 league appearances last season.
