Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Xola Mlambo has signed for TS Galaxy as a free agent ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Mlambo, better known as 10-10 within football cycles, was part of AmaZulu’s 15 released players in what was deemed to be the club’s biggest ever exodus.
The 31-year-old was shown the exit door alongside Tsepo Masilela, Henrick Ekstein, Kgotso Moleko, Sphelele Mthembu, Philani Zulu, Thabo Qalinge, Luvuyo Memela, Augustine Mulenga, Neil Boshoff, Limbikani Mzava, Abraham Majok, Siphelele Mthembu, Andre de Jong, whereas Tapelo Xoki has been acquired by Orlando Pirates and Siyethemba Sithebe opted to not extend his contract with Usuthu, and later joined Kaizer Chiefs.
Since joining the KwaZulu-Natal outfit in October 2020, the Dobsonville-born footballer managed to play 50 games and scored one goal.
The talented midfield dynamo featured for the Galaxy’s friendly match when the team locked horns with the reserve side on Wednesday in Sandton.
According to the club, Mlambo showed glimpses of what the Rockets can expect from him with some of his deft touches on the ball during their pre-season match.
He also represented teams such as North-West University, Cape Town All Stars, Chippa United and Bidvest Wits.
Mlambo is the first signing of the Rockets this transfer window period after the club parted ways with several key players including the likes of Bafana Bafana international Ethan Brooks and Nigerian striker Augustine Kwem who joined Usuthu.

However, Galaxy managed to extend the contracts of Lindokuhle Mbatha, Bathusi Aubaas, Pogiso Sanoka, Melusi Buthelezi, Given Msimango and Marks Munyai as the new season looms large.
Meanwhile, the club head coach Sead Ramovic assured the Rockets’ fans they won’t be fighting relegation next season as they will be pushing hard to end the campaign in the top eight.
“From now on, TS Galaxy won’t fight relegation. Our goal is now to be in the top eight. We have to start our preparation for the next season. It was nice to save our status at this beautiful stadium,” Ramovic stated.
