Former Swallows assistant coach gets new job
Former Swallows FC assistant coach Simon Dladla has been unveiled as Uthongathi FC’s new mentor.
The Motsepe Foundation Championship side has confirmed the hiring of Dladla through a statement on the team’s social media page.
“Uthongathi Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Simo Dladla to the position of Head Coach,” the statement reads.
However, the KwaZulu Natal-based team’s management fell short of stating the duration of the coach’s contract.
The 41-year-old has replaced coach Papi Zothwane who left the Cane Cutters days after taking charge of pre-season training.
Dladla was until early this year working as an assistant coach at Swallows FC.
The 41-year-old has also had stints with clubs such as Real Kings and Richard Bay in the second-tier league.
Dladla told the press recently that he was working towards upgrading his CAF B-Licence badge to CAF A.
Uthongathi recently dismissed reports that had gone rife that the team was up for sale.
